ছোট বেলা থেকেই একটু ছাপা স্বভাবের ও লাজুক প্রকৃতির ছিল বলে খেলাধুলায় পারদর্শিতা ছিল খুব সামন্যই তারপরও স্কুলের বার্ষিক ক্রিড়া ও সাংস্কৃতিক প্রোগামে অংশগ্রহন ছিল নিয়মিত। পুরুষ্কারও যে একেবারে কম জুটেছে তা নয়। তবে পড়া লেখা ও ধর্ম-কর্মে আগ্রহের কমতি ছিল না। সকাল বেলা স্কুলের পিটিতে নিয়মিত জাতীয় সংগীত ও কোরআন তেলওয়াতের কারনে সব শিক্ষকের নজরে থাকত, তাই পরিক্ষায় ভাল মার্কও জুটত সবসময়।
বা-মায়ের আর্থিক সমস্যার কারনে ছোট বেলাটা একটু কষ্টে কাটলেও দিন দিন দেশের অবস্থার সাথে সাথেই সংসারের আয় বাড়তে থাকলে সেই সমস্যা দ্রুতই কেটে উঠে। শুরু হয় নতুন দিন। গ্রামের একটি সরকারি স্কুল থেকে প্রাইমারি কমপ্লিট করে গ্রামেরই একটা হাই স্কুল থেকে মাধ্যমিক শেষ করে দিদার। তারপর উচ্চ শিক্ষার জন্য চলে আসে ঢাকায়।
